Medical Aid in Dying
Medical aid in dying is a compassionate option available to terminally ill patients who face the final stages of life and wish for a gentle, peaceful passing on their own terms. For those with a prognosis of six months or less to, it allows them, after careful and thoughtful conversations with their healthcare team, to request medication that will help them pass away in comfort and dignity when they feel ready. This deeply personal choice is approached with great care, ensuring that the decision is fully informed and honors the patient’s wishes, relieving some of the suffering that often accompanies the end of life.
