Since 1982, Mesilla Valley Hospice has provided end-of-life care 24 hours a day for patients that have been diagnosed with an illness that limits their life expectancy to six months or less. We provide this care in a variety of settings, including the patient’s home, a nursing home, a hospital, an assisted living facility, or our own in-patient unit, La Posada. Our goal is to enable our patients to continue a pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their last months may be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones.
It’s good to be different. Mesilla Valley Hospice has led the way as the only community hospice and non-profit hospice in Doña Ana County. Plus, this is the only facility in New Mexico with a hospice in-patient unit.
Hospice isn’t a building—it’s a type of care that can be provided at home, in an assisted-living facility, a nursing home, or a hospice in-patient unit. Hospice brings comfort to patients and families wherever home is when curative treatments are no longer working.
Providing comfort and compassionate care to the community requires the talents and experience of top-qualified professionals and volunteers that have a commitment to service. If you want to be a part of our world class team view our available positions.
Due to recommendations from the Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control, the staff and management of Mesilla Valley Hospice are doing their very best to limit unnecessary exposure during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. Therefore, we will be postponing any groups, meetings or activities at the facility until further notice.
At this time, Mesilla Valley Hospice is not enforcing visiting hours for hospice patients but visits are limited to immediate family and the number of visitors patients may have. Hospice visitors are being directed to enter hospice through the exterior Chapel door on the west side of the building.
Updates will be posted on the Mesilla Valley Hospice Facebook page and the website at mvhospice.org.
